The black box (used to be brown with small, sliding doors)

I'm not really a fan of the TV. Surely the occasional Raya movies and particular hilarious adult sitcoms, e.g. Friends, are rare and special occasions for me to watch the tv. But generally, no. I'd rather read. High possibility my family might be the only one that allowed us to read books during mealtimes. Heck, I didn't even had all those Nintendo, Gameboy or whatnot... Was not allowed but we had abundance of books though.

I guess I'm rather picky when it comes to television shows. I get dizzy when I channel-surf. I rather pick the shows that I really want to watch and wait for it to appear on the screen. With this, there's few shows that I feel worth watching and would like to share this with all of you.

Sitcoms - Laughter is the best medicine

F.R.I.E.N.D.S
I made sure I had a hu-u-ge mug like theirs and always ordered Pizza Hut Delivery, konon2 living in NY la :)
Whose Line is it Anyway?
Classic, pure laughter with tears.
Everybody loves Raymond
Lawak bangang with honest characters. Sangat hilarious.
The Nanny
Another classic, never bores me and all jokes are like fresh from the oven, as if you've never heard it padahal dah tengok a thousand times.
Others (watch them occasionally but can't be bothered to really follow, unless I have the DVD box set): Fairly Legal, Desperate Housewives, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, How I Met Your Mother, Will and Grace, Mr Bean, Malcolm in the middle, Dharma & Greg... just to name a few.

Closer to God - We're humans and we're always in need of Guidance

Reflections with Imam Suhaib Webb, TV Alhijrah
Love how he manages to relate the words of Allah in the Holy Quran to today's challenges and apply it perfect examples.
Semanis Kurma, TV9
Was mum's fave show. Husband and wife moderate this talk show, just effing cuteness!
30 minit Ustaz Don
Yes, I agree he does have that 'cute' appeal but he has successfully shows viewers on how to properly pronounce when reading the words of Allah, how to perfom prayers (e.g. how to bow properly for rukuk) and many more. He has made the 30minutes interesting and funny with raising issues that you never stop to think about.

Note: Notice how only three Islamic shows that I've mentioned? Sad right, we have a number of these programmes but sadly none are able to relate to today's modern-day challenges. But happy to credit TV Alhijrah for coming up with more and more interesting programmes!

Therefore, make the right choice when being in front of the tv. For daddy, news is enough to make him happy.

Family Hi-Tea at Impiana Hotel, Ipoh

As it's a long weekend with Tuesday being off for Labour Day, head back to Ipoh as the last trip was before we all went for umrah. Was already planning to cook loads of dish for all and take care of ayah, but sadly wicked witch (current employer) ensured that I do work (just cos there's an event next week). Oh well. Just a bit more and then I can submit the resignation letter (what's the point of staying there if I'm being ridiculed over my priorities for Islam and family? Yeap, that's right.)

Anyway, that aside, just came back from hi-tea and all's tummy are expanded double the size LOL. And no, the yellow shawl is not a testimony of my support towards Bersih ok.

sorry, pic's a bit blurry

Lookbook:
Yellow mustard border with black-base inner neck
Yellow chiffon from Karmalisa's by Zaifie Zainal
Purple checkered shirt from Brands' Outlet
Dark-wash denim by Marks & Spencer
Purple pointed ballet flats (can't see in the pic) from Brands' Outlet

Aight, I'm off to tempah baju kurungs. In Ipoh, the rate is still RM40. No way you can get that price in KL *sigh*

Later peeps, much love!

Assalamualaikum & Welcome Entry ;)

I go by the name of Haz. Short and one-syllable, great for people to shout it across the hall or from another shopping mall floor if ever stumble upon me *sniggers*. Ain't new to blogging but this is my first blog since my 'hijrah' wearing hijab. Sole reason that I started this is to give ideas on how to dress as a Muslimah in today's complicated and challenging world. Therefore, I hope that this will in some way help my dear sisters out there.

p/s: I'm addicted to pearls, used to oogle mum's collection but now that I can afford to get some, I rather wear my mum's... makes me feel closer to her now that she is no longer around.

Much love!
